CLE is a simple, safe, and effective surgery that’s very similar to cataract surgery. Our team of experts is here to help guide you every step of the way.
During CLE, the natural lens is removed from the eye and replaced with an acrylic, silicone, or plastic artificial lens (called an intraocular lens, or IOL). The trusted surgeons at ICON Eyecare use state-of-the-art laser technology to ensure patients experience minimal discomfort and the highest-quality, most customized results. Our computer-assisted instrument allows us to make highly precise cuts; then, an intraoperative wavefront aberrometer is used to fine-tune the results once the lens is replaced. The procedure typically takes no longer than 20 minutes, and most patients require only a short recovery period.
