Hundreds of cycling enthusiasts will gather at The Colorado Riverfront Commission for a morning of riding and giving back to their community

Grand Junction, CO (September 30, 2015) ICON Eyecare is hosting the fourth annual Tour of the Moon bike ride on Saturday, October 3. The sold out tour takes 2,000 cyclists through the scenic Colorado National Monument and is sponsored and organized chiefly by ICON Eyecare. Registration proceeds from the ride benefit the Colorado Riverfront Commission and Bicycle Colorado.

“I’m excited that we were able to bring the ICON Tour of the Moon back for its fourth year. With 2,000 bikers traveling here from all across the country, it ends up bringing a fair amount of business to the local economy and is a great way for us to showcase the Grand Valley,” ICON Optometrist, Travis Anderson O.D., said.

The event starts and ends at Two Rivers Convention Center and because Tour of the Moon is not a race, cyclists can start anywhere from 7:30-9 a.m. and can choose between two lengths: either 41 miles or 62 miles. There will be biker support and aid stations throughout the ride as well as an ICON Eyecare information booth located by the stage at the convention center.

One of the benefiting charities, Colorado Riverfront Commission, is dedicated to the preservation of wildlife and habitat as well as the recreational development of rivers in Mesa County and the Grand Valley. The other charity, Bicycle Colorado, is a non-profit that works to promote bicycling and build a bicycle friendly Colorado.
