What is Uveitis?
Uveitis is a form of inflammation that occurs in one eye or both eyes. It can be serious and lead to permanent vision loss. That is why it is important to diagnose and treat uveitis as early as possible, ideally before permanent damage occurs.
What are the Symptoms of Uveitis?
Not so different from some other eye conditions, uveitis presents symptoms such as:
- Light sensitivity
- Blurred vision
- Dark floating spots in the field of vision
How is Uveitis Treated?
- Early diagnosis and treatment are important to prevent complications or permanent vision loss from uveitis. The most common treatment is eye drops that ease the inflammation.
- In some cases, uveitis is a result of an infection, so antibiotics or antiviral medication may be prescribed.
