Director of Education and Quality & Optometrist
Dr. Sturdy began his career at ICON after graduating with distinction from Southern College of Optometry in 2009 and completing his ocular disease residency at Omni Eye Services of Atlanta in 2010. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Human Biology and a double minor in chemistry and music from the University of Kansas. He was one of the first optometrists in the country to become board certified, a demanding process requiring clinical knowledge and expertise, with a commitment to life-long learning. Dr. Sturdy returned to ICON after an 18 month sabbatical to follow his wife while she completed her education to become a fellowship trained ophthalmologist. He specializes in comprehensive eye care, surgical co-management, ocular disease and dry eye treatment.
Dr. Sturdy oversees the recruitment, as well as advanced didactic and clinical training of recent optometric graduates that choose an optional optometric residency to further their education and training. He is committed to the highest quality patient care using cutting-edge technology.
Dr. Sturdy grew up in Hays, Kansas. He resides in Denver with his wife and four children.
