  • How Do I Know if LASIK is Right for Me?

The first step in determining if LASIK is right for you is a consultation. Because we are so passionate about the life-changing opportunity that LASIK can be, we offer this initial consultation as a complimentary service.

Your free LASIK consultation involves a full eye exam using using advanced diagnostic tools in addition to dilation. Some of the factors that go into determining if LASIK is right for you are your prescription, age, corneal shape and thickness, pupil size and presence of dry eye. We prefer to work closely with your current optometrist for continuity of care. Ask your eye doctor to refer you to ICON Eyecare for your LASIK vision correction procedure. (Doctors, refer a patient here.)

LASIK may not be for everyone, but the good news is that vision correction probably is! We offer Refractive Lens Exchange, PRK and Visian ICL procedures as alternatives to LASIK. Simply schedule your free consultation or take our quick LASIK self-test to learn more.

  • How Does LASIK Work?

Blade-Free LASIK surgery is a quick outpatient procedure that has been successful for millions at treating nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism (getting people out of glasses and contacts).

The procedure happens in two steps:

    1. Creating the “Flap.”

Your surgeon will use a gentle laser beam to create a thin flap in the outer layer of the cornea. This allows access to the tissue underneath in order to reshape the cornea.

    2. Correcting the Corneal Shape.

Your surgeon will use a second laser beam to gently remove tissue to round out the cornea. This is the part that corrects your vision! The flap will naturally heal without the use of stitches or bandages.

  • Does LASIK Hurt?

You will have the option to take a mild oral sedative when you arrive for your procedure to calm your nerves, and your surgeon will apply numbing drops to the surface of your eye(s). Therefore, most patients report that they only feel a slight pressure, if anything at all.

The most common reaction we hear is how surprised people are that the procedure was so quick and comfortable!

  • How Much Does LASIK Cost?

At ICON Eyecare, we aim to make LASIK pricing as simple and affordable as possible. The cost of your procedure is based on your prescription so it will vary from patient to patient. The cost that is quoted at the time of your free LASIK consultation is all-inclusive to cover your procedure and follow-up appointments. Each of our LASIK packages also includes a Lifetime Warranty. Call 720-524-1001 for details.

To help you feel confident in your choice to have LASIK at ICON Eyecare, we offer a Value Match Guarantee on comparable technology and warranty, seasonal discounts and flexible financing options (scroll down).

  • Cost of Not Having LASIK

If your argument tends to be “I can’t afford LASIK,” think again. Are you wearing glasses? Contacts? Try to add all that up for a month, year, your LIFETIME. The truth is, you’re already spending money on your eyes; why not take your vision to the next level with LASIK from ICON Eyecare?

Remember, Blade-Free LASIK only has to be performed once*; glasses and contacts are an annual purchase. Let’s look at these average costs:

    Eye Exam: $100 – $200
    Contact Lenses: $250 – $700
    Contact Lens Supplies: $150 – $200
    Glasses with Designer Frames: $500 – $1000
    Backup Pair of Glasses: $100 – $200
    Prescription Sunglasses: $500+

    Total: $1600+

So for most, LASIK at ICON Eyecare pays for itself within 2-3 years!**

  • Can I Finance My LASIK Procedure?

We offer a variety of financing options to fit your budget through our preferred lenders. Options include $0 down, 0% interest for up to 24 months as well as longer-term plans for people who’d like to enjoy a lower monthly payment (as low as $2.50 a day!).*

We are happy to go through all of the options with you at your free LASIK consultation to determine which route is best for you.

*ICON Eyecare cannot guarantee or mitigate the approval process through third party lenders.

  • What is LASIK Recovery Like?

Typical recovery from a LASIK procedure is fast and pain-free. Many patients see a dramatic improvement within minutes of their procedure. We’ve had patients who have worn glasses and contacts for 20 years for distance vision who can see details across the room immediately after the procedure is complete.

We require that someone drives you home after your procedure, to be safe, and recommend that you sleep for 5-6 hours after your procedure to rest your eyes. Most patients are able to return to normal activities* upon waking from that long nap and are able to drive themselves to their first follow-up the next day.

To ensure that your eyes are healing well, we will have you come in for follow-up appointments at one day, one week and 30 days after your procedure. These appointments are part of your all-inclusive pricing, so there will be no additional charge.

*We recommend refraining from wearing makeup, vigorous activity and/or swimming for up to 2 weeks after your procedure. Results vary. Consult your physician.
