ICON Eyecare Provides Gift to Denver Health to Establish New Family Health Center in Underserved Southwest Denver

ICON Eyecare is a Trailblazer Donor and Proud Supporter of Denver Health’s Mission

DENVER (October 5, 2015)ICON Eyecare is pleased to continue its mission of providing world class ophthalmology care by funding a gift to Denver Health. ICON Eyecare’s contribution will be an integral part of Denver Health’s newest community health center in southwestern Denver. The Southwest Family Health Center will receive a capital gift of $200,000 in support of its opening in April 2016.

In addition to the capital contribution, ICON Eyecare also announced its new 365 CommUnity initiative whereby ICON Eyecare’s Doctors and Care Team associates will donate 365 days of volunteer care to community health systems like Denver Health that serve low-income underserved patients in Colorado and Texas.

The Southwest Family Health Center is Denver Health’s ninth community health clinic and the first urgent care facility outside the main campus. ICON Eyecare is proud to be contributing to Denver Health’s long history of providing healthcare to underserved patients by its generous donation to the new clinic.

ICON Eyecare announced the gift to Denver Health along with the opening of its new Medicare-certified ambulatory surgery center on October 1st. Joining doctors, associates and co-managing optometrists in the announcement were ICON Eyecare patient John Elway and the Honorable Federico Pena, former mayor of Denver and Denver Health supporter.
