Shannon Swayne, OD, FAAO, joins the ICON Eyecare Grand Junction team after spending time in Tulsa, OK with two private practices as an optometric physician. She assists with cataract, glaucoma, corneal, and other medical eye care concerns. Her passion for eye care stems from the joy of helping people with their eye care issues so they can continue to thrive and do what they enjoy in life.
Dr. Swayne earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Newman University in Wichita, Kansas and her Doctor of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. Swayne completed her residency in Ocular Disease and Refractive Surgery through Northeastern State University College of Optometry. She completed her glaucoma fellowship at Northeastern State as well, holding the distinction of Fellow of American Academy of Optometry. She is a registered optometrist in Colorado, Oklahoma and Kansas, and is a member of the American Academy of Optometry along with the American Optometric Association.
Dr. Swayne is originally from Kansas. She has two cats, enjoys traveling, hiking, reading, and making one-of-a-kind stained glass artwork.
